Additional Senate Committees
Select Committees
Under the Senate Rules of Order, the President may create Select Committees for specific studies or purposes.
He appoints and may remove the members thereof and designates the chairman. A select committee has the same powers, duties, and authorities and is
subject to the same rules as standing committees during interims between sessions.
Statutory Committees
Several agencies are established by statute within the legislative branch of state government.
The membership, powers, duties, and functions of each agency is provided by law, resolution, and/or rule.
