Senator Beth Mizell
District - 12


   Senator Beth Mizell is the elected State Senator for District 12.   She is a mother, grandmother, businesswoman and cattle rancher who lives in Franklinton.  A lifelong resident of the Northshore, her background as a CASA and a business owner have been major influences.

 In the Senate, Beth serves on the: 

  • Senate Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection and International Affairs

  • Senate Committee on Education

  • Senate Committee on Retirement

  • Senate Select Committee on Vocational & Technical Education (Vice-Chairman)

  • Senate Select Committee on Women and Children (Vice -Chairman)

  •  Louisiana Commission on Civic Education

  •  Louisiana Bullying Awareness and Treatment Task Force

  •  Lower Pearl River Basin Ecosystem Study Commission

  •  Early Learning Fellows

In 2012 Beth lost her husband, Bob, to cancer.  She has 2 children and 7 grandchildren in Mississippi that she wants back in Louisiana.
