Life-long Louisiana resident
Grew up in Winn Parish
Graduated from Winnfield High School in 1962
Graduated Northwestern State University in 1966
Bachelors Degree in Education with Social Studies
Minor in English
Taught at Houma Junior High School and Leesville High School
Started a career in the Insurance Business
Retired from State Farm Insurance in 1999
Served as area representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes along
with his wife Rose
Worked in 10 parishes for eight years
Servicing 80 junior high & high schools along with two universities
Elected State Senator for District 31 in November 2007
Represents Natchitoches, Winn, Grant, Sabine, and parts of Red River &
Rapides parishes
